Infrastructure Asset Management (IAM) Conference

AFUR and AERF are collaborating on the Infrastructure Asset Management project, finding solutions to solve the Infrastructure Asset Management gaps in Africa and meet the continent’s developing political, economic, geographic, rural-urban, and technological demands for the Infrastructure Asset Energy sectors.

The conference will be attracting utilities, energy regulators, and service providers from Africa and the Middle East.

The conference theme is “The Use of the Infrastructure Asset Management Discipline to Resolve the African Energy Crisis and Climate Change Challenges.”  Africa has an energy crisis manifesting in low energy usage, power shortages, lack of funding, low tariffs, poor project preparation, and an over-reliance on coal and hydropower, all resulting from aging and failing infrastructure. Due to low credit ratings, this energy crisis has caused many business closures, job losses, and a lack of investment.
